Abstract

This article analyzes the paradigms and imaginaries regarding Artificial Intelligence present in Benjamin Labatut's novel "Maniac," focusing specifically on its final part titled "Lee or the delusions of artificial intelligence." The analysis is grounded in the main disputes of contemporary philosophy of mind concerning machine intelligence, such as computational functionalism and emergentism, proposed as hermeneutical frameworks for analyzing Labatut's narrative. The aim is to demonstrate how the intersection of philosophical concepts and literary perspectives enriches humanistic reflections on artificial intelligence and other emerging technologies.
