Abstract
The present article explores Rodrigo Fresán's novel El fondo del cielo (2009), highlighting its innovative fusion of science fiction, the fantastic, and the neofantastic. The objective is to examine how Fresán uses the hybridization of genres and metatextuality to create a narrative that, while rooted in science fiction, explores more complex themes and generates an effect of unease and disquiet in the reader. Fresán addresses concepts such as time, memory, and the end of the world from a philosophical and metaphysical perspective.
