Abstract
This article describes, through the reconstruction of the Mexican cultural field during the 20th century, the struggle of the cultural supplement sábado, of the unomásuno newspaper, for the monopoly of legitimacy in cultural journalism in modern Mexico. It also shows the process of configuration of cultural hegemony in the country by making use of the concept of ‘’ intellectual nations ’’, and addressing the intellectual and political dimensions of cultural productions. Through a historical review, the role of periodicals to demonstrate (and dismantle) political and intellectual positions within the cultural field is explained, taking up the concept of "relative autonomy" to speak of sábado as a predominant medium. the absence of the State and its coercive power within its publications.
