Abstract
appears as a postmodern alternative that sought to overcome the influence of Macondo in literature. Pardo achieves success by going against the literary trend of having men as main characters. Likewise, it also allows the "environment" to be important, allowing it to affect the plot of the novel at the same level as the flesh and blood characters. Since the very title of the novel includes the word “the garden,” this project analyzes El jardín de las Weismann more than four decades after its first edition from an eco-critical perspective. Rereading and analyzing El jardín de las Weismann from the theoretical framework of ecocriticism, more specifically from ecofeminism, I propose that violence, love, and hope are intertwined with nature. In the same way, I will highlight the plot of the novel, which has already gained international attention and is being translated into English and Icelandic (apart from its already French translation).References
