A digital rereading: the use of technological tools for the dissemination of literature written by women in Mexico

Abstract

This paper explores the use of digital tools for the rescue and promotion of literature written by women in Mexico. There will be a review of the concept of cyberfeminism and its relation with female writers and literature, how it performs the function of promotion through platforms, the social implications that literature and digital activism entail in our country. Subsequently, a case analysis will be made to the website Decimonónicas. Catálogo de autoras mexicanas del siglo XIX, an initiative to recover women writers who were excluded from the literary field of the time, and how, through digital media, a rereading of their work is allowed. To conclude, we talk about the possibilities of the Internet and technological tools as practices to question the patriarchal discourse in literature.
