Narrative aesthetics of the Greater Caribbean: notes for a poetics by Germán Espinosa

Abstract

In these work some notes are exposed to understand the poetics of the Colombian writer Germán Espinosa in relation to the notion of the Caribbean, an aspect that can be seen in a concrete way in his idea of ​​a novel as a synthesizing essay of experiences, images and, above all, of means of artistic representation. Thus, it seeks to show that the notion of "generic expansion" that Espinosa conceives for his narrative is part of the idea that the author has of Caribbean culture, as a spirit that expands and transcends, elusive in a single form of expression artistic and, nevertheless, materialized through a poetics.
