Abstract
This work is framed within feminist and lesbian literary criticism. It’s intention is showing how lesbian eroticism develops in the novel Amora by Rosamaría Roffiel, published by Editorial Planeta in 1989, as well as identifying the literary resources used in it and, mainly, why it is considered the first lesbian novel in Mexico and a starting point for the formation of a lesbian literary canon. Based on the hypothesis that this is due it proposes a discourse of complete female freedom, both in its narrative and in its characters, far from the prevailing masculine hegemonic system that creates and defines women from men.
