Abstract
The seventies in the poetics of Efraín Huerta are relevant for two interrelated events: the first is biographical in nature, having suffered from laryngeal cancer and surviving at the cost of losing his voice. The second is of a literary nature, that decade represented the greatest literary production of the writer in relation to other past and future ones, characterized by being his most ironic, playful and uninhibited stage. This document maintains that both the health events in the writer and the change in verse structure were factors that influenced the change in mood reflected in his poetry.
